Valley Health offers confidential reproductive health services for women and men regardless of income or age. The clinical services are provided by Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (APRN NPs).

History

Valley Health opened as Valley Family Planning Health and Education Center in October, 1972, serving just four clients the first clinic evening.

Currently, Valley Health has expanded services to include WIC and the Optimal Pregnancy Outcome Program. In 2008, Valley Health programs served more than 5,000 clients.

Everyone qualifies for family planning and reproductive health services regardless of income. A sliding fee scale, based on income, is used to determine the charges for those who wish to apply for reduced rates. We accept a number of insurances including Medicaid. Valley Health will submit your claims for services.

WIC

WIC is a program for pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children younger than five. WIC offers healthy food for proper growth and development and helps families choose healthier ways of eating. Eligible WIC clients receive checks for healthy foods that can be cashed at local grocery stores. In addition, WIC offers nutrition information, breast-feeding support, cooking classes, health monitoring, hemoglobin screening and nutrition counseling with dietitians and nutritionists. Services are offered at no cost to the client and are available to families in our area that meet the eligibility requirements.

Optimal Pregnancy Outcome Program

Optimal Pregnancy Outcome Program (OPOP) is a prevention program designed to empower pregnant women to make informed healthy lifestyle choices for healthy babies. OPOP provides a multidisciplinary team committed to enhancing prenatal care women receive from their primary healthcare provider. The goal is to improve birth outcomes. Clients are seen on a monthly basis.
