The Valley Health Board of Directors consists of a diverse, energized group of communtiy members who volunteer their time working to provide family planning services to those in need in the Grand Forks and surrounding area. |
Brad Gibbens
Brad is Associate Director & Assistant Professor for the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota and has served on the Valley Health and WIC Board of Directors for over 20 years. "I believe very strongly in providing family planning services to families. The community, families, and individuals are strengthened when we apply a shared responsibility approach to working with people to better understand responsible reproductive behavior." |
Rona Johnson
Rona has been a client at Valley Health for several years and represents clinic consumers on the Board of Directors. She works for BBI International as the editor of Biomass Magazine. Prior to that, Rona spent 15 years at the Grand Forks Herald as a reporter, editor and columnist. |
Kathleen "Tootsie" Gasparini
Tootsie, a life-long resident of Grand Forks, is Chair to the Valley Health Governing Board of Directors and has been teaching health to students for over 35 years. She and her husband are parents to three married sons, and have five grandchildren. Tootsie "feels Valley Health provides invaluable services to our community, serving all people who need reproductive health care regardless of income level." |
Bob Sorlein
Bob was born and raised in Grand Forks and likes it here very much. He is a Business Banking Officer for Frandsen Bank & Trust and has been employed by them for over 5 years. In addition to serving on various committees, Bob is the Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Valley Health Board of Directors. "Community involvement is important to me and I believe organizations like Valley Health are essential to the community." |
Heidi Brenna
Heidi is a native of Grand Forks and is an architect at Widseth Smith Nolting in Grand Forks. In addition to her position on the Valley Health Board, Heidi has been an avid volunteer for her fraternity, Kappa Alpha Theta, and currently serves as a Facility Management District Director for collegiate chapters in Arizona, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Southern California, and Utah. Heidi "believes in Valley Health's commitment to providing reproductive counseling, education, and medical services to young people in our community." |
Annette Larson
Annette is a Physician Assistant and an Assistant Professor at the University of North Dakota Physician Assistant Program located in the School of Medicine & Health Sciences. She spent much of her early years as a clinician providing primary care to women. Annette said "yes" to serving on the Valley Health Board of Directors as she recognizes the importance of women understanding how their body works and making good choices to improve their health. "I am excited to work with a board of individuals representing a variety of professions in the community." |
Kim Adams
Kim, a Grand Forks native, has been a Registered Nurse for 31 years. Her nursing experience includes chemical dependency, psychiatric, hospice and public health nursing. Kim is currently employed at Central High School as the Medical Careers Instructor and School Nurse. In addition, Kim serves as Secretary for the Valley Health Board of Directors. "My nursing experiences and the clients that I have worked with have reinforced to me how important Valley Health's services are to the health of our community". |
